Game Availability in Northwestern Ontario
Since Rogers NHL LIVETM is an out-of-market product, this means that with a subscription, you are blacked out from viewing the “home” team in any given market. To simplify, if you live within the grey boundary of Ontario, you will be blacked out from watching regional Jets or Maple Leafs games.
*Please note: these game counts are an approximation and should be used for educational purposes only. Regional and national games are subject to change without notice, which can alter the counts seen above.
With a full-season subscription to Rogers NHL LIVETM, you would be blacked out from viewing 60 Jets and 42 Maple Leafs regional games. You would, however, get all national games for both teams—22 Jets games and 40 Maple Leafs games.
National games are ones that can be viewed by everybody from coast-to-coast on programs such as Hockey Night in Canada, Scotiabank Wednesday Night Hockey and Rogers Hometown Hockey. Aside from national Jets and Maple Leafs, you would also get over 1,000 national and out-of-market games from around the NHL (including all outdoor games and regional games for other teams), as well as the entire 2018 Stanley Cup Playoffs.
If you think that you may lie on the boundary between regions and are unsure of which one you fall within, check out our handy Where to Watch tool. Simply follow the link, choose your province and the team you’re attempting to watch and enter your postal code—it will tell you which region you are in and which games are available to you. If a game you want to watch is blacked out, you can access this game if it is airing on Sportsnet by subscribing to SPORTSNET NOW, which you can use to stream without a cable package.
Includes: Kenora, Rainy River, & Thunder Bay Districts
- The Regional Boundaries are not cleanly defined
- Some people along the regional boundaries may fall in or out of a given region based on the postal code definitions provided by the NHL
